Santa Fe Railway Standard Dial Clocks do not come around too often for sale and are hard to find. This 8-day time-only clock is in excellent working condition and keeps very accurate time after all these years. The clock came from the Santa Fe Railway Credit Union Office in Topeka, Kansas. The clock was made by Seth Thomas Clock Co. for the Santa Fe Ry System and is all original. The clockwork has been cleaned, lubricated, and minor adjustments were made. The original Santa Fe time service department label 1649 for clock H-373 is on the inside, and the clock is stamped & marked H-373 on the inside and on the back. It appears the last time it was worked on was 4-22-1935 which is written in pencil. The 16" square mahogany case is all original. We just cleaned and oiled the wood. It has the original convex curved glass. In 1896 Santa Fe Railway standardized its time service department with the help of Henry S. Montgomery, the general watch & clock inspector from 1896 to 1923. A very unique and hard-to-find AT&SFRy clock that is as accurate as a modern digital clock, and would make a wonderful addition to any Railroadiana collection!
