Circa 1860's White Salt Glaze Stoneware Shouldered Whiskey Jug w/Wire Bail Handle
Item #: 4833 A very early and attractive white stoneware whiskey jug from the mid 1800s. The jug is in very good original condition, with fishtail ears, and beading around the neck of the jug. It has a slightly rusty wire bail handle, which adds to the appeal. The jug has overall glaze crazing, with five tiny flea bite flakes around the base, but no large chips. There are some surface marks from age and use. The jug is 9 1/2" tall, and 6 5/8" in diameter at the base. It is slightly tapered in shape. A great Early Americana piece to happily display in your collection!
