Item #: 5144 Colorado & Southern Railway hat badges in serif "C. & S.Ry." letters are very hard to find these days. This is a rectangular nickel-finished conductor hat badge. Many Colorado railroad hat badges were usually made by the Denver Novelty Company. This badge is not factory-hallmarked. It is inlaid on the front in black enameled letters “Conductor, C&SRy”. It does have some enamel loss in spots on five letters. The back side has two clips soldered on where the hat badge was attached to the hat. It is 3 9/16” long, and 7/8” wide. This is a fine Colorado & Southern Railway collectible… one to proudly display with your Railroadiana collection!
