Most of us have no servants to ring for service, but who cares with this exceptional five bottle Victorian castor set by Rogers & Brother of Waterbury, Conn.. This company established in 1858, was often confused with Rogers Bros. in Hartford, Conn., but was part of the same family. They became part of the International Silver Co. in 1898. The re-silvered frame is marked with their trademark "Rogers & Bro. Tripleplate", and the numbers "0586" on the base (see picture). At the center of the mark is a fist with lighting bolts. The carousel turns freely. The servants bell rings daintily, and all bottles and stoppers match. There are no chips, cracks or imperfections in any of the bottles. All bottles are etched and cut in the same design (see picture of pattern). The dimensions of the frame are 16 7/8" tall, and 7 1/8" in diameter. The dimensions of the tallest bottle with stopper are 9 7/8" tall, and 2 1/4" in diameter at the widest point. This would make an exquisite centerpiece for any elegant dining room!
