We commissioned this exceptional oil painting titled "Moonlit Calm" by Roy Gonzales Tabora, world renowned seascape artist. Roy Tabora was born June 18, 1956, continuing the legacy of generations of artists in his family. He apprenticed with his uncle, Rick Gonzales, receiving an amazing amount of expert training, which he continued with his education at Washington State University, finishing with his degree in fine arts from the University of Hawaii. Nature alone is the subject of his work. He has works displayed in fine art galleries throughout the United States and Japan, and is recognized as one of Hawaii's leading artists. We commissioned the original oil painting titled "Moonlit Calm" by Roy Tabora in July of 1995. It has similarities to another of Tabora's works titled " Calm Blue Waters", which we saw at the Wyland Gallery on Front Street, Lahaina, Maui, at the time. This original oil on canvas is matted beautifully with two shades of light blue raw silk with silver trim, in a natural Koa wood frame. The back of the oil painting has the artists authentication in black script, which reads: "Moonlit Calm" copyright, "1995 Hawaii, Cat. No. 950708, All Rights Reserved By The Artist" with his signature, " Roy Gonzales Tabora". It was framed by the Artful Framer Gallery, Waipahu, Hawaii. A personal signed certificate is with the painting, dedicated to us from Mr. Tabora, which says, "Me Keawha Pumehana, '95", and his signature. The oil painting is 10" wide, and 20" long, and the frame is 21" wide, 31" long, and 3" deep. There is no glass. This beautiful original commissioned oil painting by Roy Tabora has been in a private collection since 1995, and has only been seen by a handful of people. This special painting deserves a place of honor in your private gallery!
