Item #: 1732J
This very lovely Wedgwood piece is cobalt jasperware in the classical pattern. The biscuit jar is impressed on the bottom, "Wedgwood," placing the production of this piece before 1891. After 1891, "England" would have been added. The biscuit jar is in excellent original condition. There are a few tiny dark specks from wear and age on the figures. You have to look very closely to find them, but they should be mentioned. The lid and handle are silverplate over brass. The finish has been worn down to mostly brass from years of polishing. There are no chips, cracks, or flea bites in the porcelain. Dimensions of the biscuit jar are: 6 ½" tall to the lid finial, and 5 ½" in diameter at the widest part. An excellent piece to add to your Wedgwood collection!
