This is a very appealing cruet, in excellent original condition. No chips, cracks or imperfections. It is generally accepted and understood these days that the work attributed to Mary Gregory was not actually done by her, and it is not known how she was connected to the naming of this particular glassware. This is a great piece for the collectors of this glassware, or even for those of us who love cranberry! The design is of a boy among trees, following a bird in flight. It has  2" wide gold trim around the top of the cruet , and a thin gold band around the center of the stopper. The cruet is blown cranberry glass, with an applied handle. The base is polished, no pontil. The base shows slight wear around the edge.  The stopper is original, and has a ground base, no chips. It does not appear that it has been re-ground, as it retains its original shape, and fits perfectly. It has a " 50" painted in gold on the base of the stopper. The dimensions of the cruet are: 6 7/8" tall, and 4" diameter, including the handle.  We place the age of this piece in the late 1930's. After the 1950's children pictured were standing, not playing as in older pieces.  A desirable and beautiful piece for a serious collector of Mary Gregory, or cranberry glass!
