This exquisite little Victorian pickle castor is in near mint condition, as well as being mint or aqua in color! The insert is a lovely mint green/aqua opalescent reverse swirl pattern. The insert is a "peanut" shape. There are no chips, cracks or imperfections in the glass. There is a pontil on the base. The glass insert is 2 3/8 ' in diameter at the top, 3 3/8" in diameter at the widest part of the base, and 4" tall. The silver plate frame, lid, and tongs are in excellent condition. They have not been re-silvered. The frame is numbered "630" on the base. This is a Wilcox frame & lid, with a pheasant and dog hunting scene. The tongs have bird claw grippers. The tong hanger is a pheasant head. The frame is 5 1/4" wide and 10" tall. The insert fits snugly into the frame and the lid fits perfectly. A fine addition to add to your pickle castor collection.
